Engineering: Residential & Commercial

Land development engineering involves many aspects of design spanning over several engineering and design disciplines. The sitework portion requires design of roadways & parking lots, site grading, domestic water systems, sanitary sewer systems, stormwater management infrastructure, and sediment control best management practices (BMP’s). Each system serves it’s own individual purpose, but must integrate with the overall project. Although most commercial and residential type projects incorporate the same common systems in their design, each site is unique and presents its own set of design challenges. To meet these challenges, engineers must concurrently deal with difficult site design constraints while adhering to the stringent requirements of various permitting agencies.
